hope you were able to take part in this year’s ISHRS Orlando workshop. It’s a
remarkable venue for seeing and discussing emerging procedures, equipment and
ideas with veteran physicians and those new to the field. This year’s agenda
included direct- comparison surgical procedures for FUE. Gratified to achieve
an average of 2.9 hairs per graft with the powered SAFE Scribe with a
transection rate of just 1.9 percent. If we’ve spoken about this, you’re aware
of my clinical stance on transection rates being an essential factor in the FUE
success equation. Given interest expressed by colleagues in Orlando, we’re

Dr. Harris will be hosting a Regional Workshop in conjunction with the ISHRS on October 2–3, 2009 in Denver, CO. The informative workshop, titled: Follicular Unit Extraction: State of the Art Methodology and Instrumentation, will include presentations by Dr. Harris and leaders in the area of FUE, live surgery demonstrations and participation opportunities using a variety of instruments and technology. This seminar is designed to educate on the basic aspects of FUE in order to successfully and safely perform this procedure.

HSC HOSTS LIVE SURGERY SEMINAR
Physicians from around the globe arrived in Denver in July of 2005 to learn more about the Harris SAFE System and Scribe, a new method and device Dr. James Harris has developed and patented to perform Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Attending physicians learned more about this procedure in a two-day seminar that involved the opportunity to participate in two days of live surgery, and each received a Harris SAFE Scribe for use in his or her own practice. They are the first in the country to use the device in their practices.
